Delayed & Accomplished Hope

This Sunday, we begin a new topical series (we will return to 1 Samuel eventually later) on the scripture: Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”  This “Hope Deferred” series will help us with Biblical guidance when our hopes, dreams, plans, become deferred, that is delayed or postponed for a period of time, or even forever.  We all have hopes as humans; hopes that keep us going in this life.  But we also experience delays or disappointments when those plans disappear or never come to fruition.  What is your hope currently?  What are your hopes in?  How should we respond or react when plans don’t go our way?  Biblically, where are some answers to these unrealized expectations?  We will talk in the coming weeks about a number of these topics as they relate to unfulfilled hopes in your life.  Our scripture reading for this Sunday is Genesis 15:1-18 which speaks of the promise to Abram & Sarai that had no signs of coming to fruition without any children of their own. That promise keeps getting delayed and delayed. This Sunday, we will introduce these topics by giving 3 Biblical facts about deferred or delayed hope.  More on all this Sunday morning.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Weaver
