This Sunday, we continue our series in the gospel of Matthew, studying chapter 4 verses 23-25.  In this passage we see Jesus’ ministry spoken about in somewhat general terms.  Here Jesus goes all over Galilee, teaching, preaching and healing and becomes famous as people are amazed and excited by His words and works.  The question is whether these followers are true believers or are they just following because of what this man Jesus can do for them.  Are they just excited or truly dedicated?  Are people “following” the Lord today in the excitement of the moment or are they truly dedicated to the Lord for their eternal life.  Are people truly born again is what we’ll talk about this Sunday.                                                                                                                                                   Our scripture reading is Proverbs 27:17-27.  In this passage we see an interesting verse, verse 27: which says, “As in water, face to face, so the heart of man to man.” In other words, as water reflects the face, so the heart of man reveals his inner person.  People in our Matthew text are responding to Christ, initially; but is it just excitement or true dedication?  More on all this topic this Sunday morning…

See you Sunday,

Pastor Weaver
