Being Involved in His Story

This Sunday, because it’s Christmas Sunday we step away from our series to do a message on the incarnation and the characters (Zacharius & Elizabeth, Mary & Joseph, the shepherds, the wise men) involved with that story.  Using several key texts in the Christmas story, we will be looking at several passages from Matthew 1 & 2 as well as Luke 1 & 2.  As we focus, during this season, on the birth of Christ; we see the story of his coming to earth and the characters that were involved to make that happen.  Characters directly used of God to work and do this story of Jesus, and to spread it.  Could God have made these events unfold without these people?  Of course, He’s God!  But He doesn’t, He uses these people, willing people.  Which got me thinking, what if these characters would have given excuses (like we often do); for not being able to be used?  Too busy, too old, too young, too confused, too rich, too helpless!  But they didn’t use excuses, they obeyed God and were just willing to be used.  What about you?  Is God using you, and your willing heart?  Let’s make ourselves obedient and available for God’s kingdom today.  We’ll discuss all this and more this Sunday morning.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Weaver
