This Sunday we continue our series in the gospel of Matthew, looking at chapter 3 verses 7-12.  In this passage we find that some Pharisees and Sadducees come to John the Baptist’s baptism, presumedly to be baptized!  Here John sees their hypocrisy and fake faith and calls them out on it.  He had to call them out as they were the so-called revered religious leaders of that day.  As a result, John deals with them by rebuking and saying several things to them which we will examine more closely on Sunday morning.  As a result, John points to the truth by pointing out their error.                                                                                                                                                                 Our scripture reading is Matthew 12:30-37, in this passage we see Jesus calling the Pharisees and Sadducees the same thing that John was calling them!  Plus, Jesus says a number of other pertinent things in that passage.  More on all this Sunday morning…
