This Sunday, we pick up and continue our topical series on the scripture: Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” This “Hope Deferred” series helps us with Biblical guidance when our hopes, dreams, plans, become deferred, that is delayed for a period of time, or even forever. This week, we will talk about “Hope Deferred in Trials” from Job 1:20-22; 2:10. When we face difficult, hard trials, because of our choices, or through no choice of our own; we can experience hope deferred. In our text this week we see a man, Job, who was righteous go through a lot of trials and great loss. He experienced it because God allowed it! What did he do? What did he learn? In this message we will talk about those lessons he learned and how we can learn those same lessons.
Our scripture reading this Sunday is 2 Corinthians 1:3-11, a passage that talks of God’s comfort in trials and tough times, comfort, which is important for us to learn, understand, and take with us in those difficult circumstances. For it is there (in trials) that we understand our relationship to the God of the universe, and for us to be able to understand how important it is that we see trials as God sees them! So that there is no hope deferred, or delayed hope in those trials, but comfort from our loving Heavenly Father.
More on all this Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
See you Sunday,
