This Sunday, we continue our new topical series on the scripture: Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” This “Hope Deferred” series helps us with Biblical guidance when our hopes, dreams, plans, become deferred, that is delayed for a period of time, or even forever. This week, we will talk about “Hope Deferred in Singles” from 1 Corinthians 7:7-9 and Matthew 19:10-12. What about Christians that are, or find themselves, single? It can be through their own choice, or through no choice of their own. Over 40% of all adults in America are single. Certainly, we need to talk about their possible hope deferred.
Our scripture reading this Sunday is 1 Timothy 6:6-14, a passage that talks about contentedness, which we all need to learn in this life, including singles. In this sermon, I will give 3 Biblical descriptions of singles for us to be able to understand how important it is that we see them as God sees them! So that there is no hope deferred, or delayed hope with them, and that none of us contribute to it in anyway. More on all this Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
See you then,
Pastor Weaver
