This Sunday we continue our series in the gospel of Matthew, where we now come to chapter 3 verses 1-6. In this passage we are introduced to John the Baptist who is unusual, preaching and baptizing in the wilderness down by the river Jordan. Everything about him is unique: his lifestyle, his birth, his calling,…
This Sunday we return (it has been a while) to our series in the gospel of Matthew. We preached through the Sermon on the Mount several years ago and then did a couple of Christmas messages on chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 back in 2023. So now we return to chapter 2 of…
This Sunday we are finishing our series in the book of 1 Samuel. This week we are in chapter 31. In this short chapter, we have the tragic end of Saul who exemplifies where wrong choices lead in a person’s life. Less than 24 hours later, Samuel’s haunting words come true as Saul, his family…

This Sunday we are continuing our series preaching through the book of 1 Samuel. This week we are in chapter 26. In this chapter we have the Ziphites giving up David’s location again and causing Saul to rise up and chase after him. Saul takes a small army, 3,000 men to David’s 600 men; a…
This Sunday we are continuing our series preaching through the book of 1 Samuel. This time we are in chapter 25. In this chapter we have, first of all, an historical note telling us that Samuel has passed away. All Israel gathers for his funeral and mourn their loss. Then we are told of the…
