Watch & Pray

This Sunday, we take a break from our series in the gospel of John and focus on the cross and celebrating the Lord’s supper.  Our text for this communion service is Matthew 26:36-46.  Here we want to examine the moments leading up to Christ’s arrest in the garden of Gethsemane.  As Jesus struggles to go to the cross, His desire is that His disciples would pray and watch with Him.  The text says that He is in agony thinking ahead to all that He would face on the cross for you and me.  The rejection, the pain, the taking on of our sin – “He hath made Him sin for us Who knew no sin.” So when Jesus was arrested, the disciples were not ready, and forsook their Savior and fled.  Are you ready, helping people with needs in our world today?  Are you struggling in your walk with the Lord and need to remember that Christ was born for you, and paid the penalty of you sin?  To help you through the difficult tough times that you are facing in your life?  Come let us be encouraged in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Weaver
