The Illegal Trials of Jesus

This Sunday, we take a break from our series in finishing Ruth and the gospel of John and focus on the cross and celebrating the Lord’s supper.  Our text for this communion service is Matthew 26:57-68.  Here we want to examine the illegal trials of Jesus after His arrest in the garden of Gethsemane.  The religious leaders, ironically, are the ones trying to get a conviction as fast as possible in the wee hours of the night.  Why?  Because they knew there would be no other way.  How do you convict the sinless Son of God?  This passage proves the deity of Jesus Christ and how He suffered at the hands of His own creation.  I believe this will be an encouragement as we consider Sunday morning what Christ has done for us.  And then respond appropriately.  Come and be encouraged in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Weaver
