Blessed Are Those Who Mourn, Matthew 5:4

This Sunday, we continue our series on Matthew 5-7, looking at the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount. We are now on the 2nd beatitude from chapter 5, verse 4. In these verses 9 times we are called blessed, that is, to be approved of God, and that is what we are in Christ. Sunday, we look at the 2nd beatitude which is blessed are they that mourn. Jesus is actually saying that if you mourn, you’ll be blessed? How can that be? How can we mourn and yet be joyful in our Christian walk, thus being approved of God? This Sunday we’ll answer your questions, talk about it, and help you understand that by mourning you will be comforted.
