This Sunday we continue our preaching series in the first epistle of John.  Our text this week is chapter 1, verses 5-7.  We now come to John’s announcement of the message that Jesus, (the One he had seen and heard – in person) gave that John declares to his listeners (readers).  John then goes on to explain 2 truths that are important for all believers to know.  That God is light, and that people (believers) need to be truthful about their walk with God. 

Understanding that God is light is just understanding about the character of God and the visual manifestation of Him.  In light of Christ and all that John has said about Him here; John asks in a very indirect way, where is your walk?  Where are you walking?  Are you truthful with your answer?    Christian, are you walking in the light?  Not in darkness?  Have you been cleansed by the blood payment of Jesus?  More on all this Sunday morning…
