Jesus or Judgement, Luke 19:29-44

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, so I thought we would break away from our Hope Deferred series to talk about the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem on a humble donkey.  Our text for this story is in Luke 19:29-44 where Luke presents the background, and the story, as well as the numerous responses to the coming King!  Who will they choose? Jesus or Judgment?  They’re presented with the truth, Jesus, the Christ, Messiah (coming into the city) who proved who He was by His words and His works!  What will they do with Jesus, who is called the Christ?  Several responses (I’ll give 5) are given in our text to show what can be responses of people today.  I’ll ask every listener: “What is your response to Jesus, who is the Christ, Messiah?”  Do you know Him as your Savior?

In our scripture reading, Psalm 126, we see the psalmist rejoicing for being delivered from exile, and rejoicing in the restoration of the nation of Israel.  Among all the difficulties they are facing; God is blessing their dedicated work (5-6 sowing seed, reaping in joy) – which is a principle illustrated for soulwinners today.
