This Sunday we look at the book (letter) of 2nd John. In this passage John shares and talks to a specific individual in this, the smallest book of the New Testament. He writes to the elect lady who is probably a dear friend in another church a distance away. He writes kindly and in a positive way stating the importance of truth, uplifting and honoring the truth; as well as remembering and preserving the truth. John then warns about how to preserve and protect the truth by watching out for false teachers. John tells his readers, the elect lady, to not help these false teachers, to not even greet them! 2 John gives us some practical things that we can learn about protecting the truth in our lives, and what we can and should do about false teachers and false teachings today.
