This Sunday we continue our preaching series in the first epistle of John. Our text again this week is the 2nd part of chapter 1, verses 1-4. Last week we looked at the first part, the first 2 verses which showed us the first 2 truths about Christ’s humanity, and His help in our Christian walk. We saw how John began his letter immediately speaking about Jesus (he was an eyewitness), and the fact that He became human in order to be our substitute and provide eternal life to us by His sacrifice on the cross. This week we look at the last 2 truths of these 4 verses. Mainly the one in verse 3 which is fellowship. Fellowship is a very big part of the church and its ministry. It’s a big part of our spiritual lives. We need fellowship from, and with fellow believers. It’s very important that we give it, and receive it. Also, John here speaks of joy that we will have to the full, because of what Christ has done for us. Joy because of His grace that offers forgiveness of sin to anyone who will accept it and receive Jesus as their Savior. Have you received Jesus? Christian, are you living in light of all that God gives you? Like fellowship and joy? More on all this Sunday morning…
See you Sunday,
Pastor Weaver
