This Sunday, we continue a brief series we began 2 weeks ago on the local church.  This time we look at what a church does.  I want to spend a little time talking about how the church is described in scripture.  Starting in 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 we look at several metaphors used in scripture to describe the believer as well as his/her part in the body of Christ, the church.  It’s interesting to see the duties and responsibilities that are there for each believer to be a part. The question here is, what is your part in all of this?  This Sunday morning, we will look at these “figures of speech” used to suggest a resemblance, to explain the meaning and describe a church.
